July 2026 Recap: A Month We'll Remember

If there was one word to describe July for Cadillac Rumble, it would be momentum.

July gave us the opportunity to play some incredible shows, meet new people, reconnect with friends, and continue introducing Cadillac Rumble to new audiences across Eastern Ontario. It was also a month where we really felt ourselves growing as a band. Every stop on this month's schedule brought something different, and by the time it was over, we couldn't help but look back and appreciate what an incredible month it had been.

July 3, 2026 – Dominion Tavern, Ottawa, ON

What a way to kick off the month!

We had the opportunity to share the stage with three outstanding bands at Ottawa's legendary Dominion Tavern. A huge thank you to Chord Productions for inviting us to be part of such a fantastic lineup.

Playing "The Dom" was everything you'd expect from one of Ottawa's classic dive bars. Great atmosphere, great people, and an audience that came ready for live rock 'n' roll.

We delivered a high-energy 30-minute set packed with some of our favourite rockabilly classics, and the response from the crowd couldn't have been better.

It was also a real pleasure spending some time talking "rockabilly shop" with Laura Palmer of Screamin' Rebel Angels. As fellow upright bass players and lead singers, we swapped stories about touring with a doghouse bass and all the adventures that come with dragging one from show to show. Conversations like that are one of the many reasons we love being part of the rockabilly community.

We also enjoyed catching the performances from Muffler Crunch, Reverb Syndicate, and of course Screamin' Rebel Angels from New York City.

Finally, a big thank you to all of our friends who came out to support us. Seeing familiar faces in the crowd always makes the night even more special.

This show reminded us that there is a healthy and growing roots music community in our region. We're already keeping our eyes open for more opportunities to share the stage with touring rockabilly and roots bands whenever they come through Eastern Ontario.

July 4, 2026 – CC's on the Rideau, Rideau Ferry, ON

Sometimes you book a show without really knowing what to expect.

That was certainly the case with our first appearance at CC's on the Rideau, and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Their beautiful patio overlooking the Rideau waterway created the perfect setting for a summer evening of live music.

After a quick setup and soundcheck, we settled into two energetic sets celebrating what we now call our Birth of Rock 'n' Roll show. It's a journey through the music that helped shape rockabilly and early rock 'n' roll, while mixing in classic country favourites and a few crowd-pleasing classics.

The best part of the evening was watching people get up and dance.

A huge thank you to the management and staff for taking such great care of us. We're already looking forward to returning during the 2027 summer season, so keep an eye on our calendar. It's a beautiful venue with great food, great hospitality, and one of the nicest waterfront patios we've played.

July 11, 2026 – Private Event, North Augusta, ON

One of the things we enjoy most about Cadillac Rumble is playing private events, and this year's stop in North Augusta was another memorable one.

A heartfelt thank you to the Brown family for inviting us to perform at their annual jamboree.

The hospitality was second to none, the food was fantastic, and the crowd made us feel right at home. We were once again able to perform our Birth of Rock 'n' Roll show, and it was wonderful seeing everyone enjoying the music throughout the evening.

Thank you for making us part of your family tradition.

July 12, 2026 – Concerts in the Park, Arnprior, ON

One of our goals for 2026 was to introduce Cadillac Rumble to new communities, and we're so glad we applied to perform as part of Arnprior's Concerts in the Park series.

When Bogdan and I arrived at McLean Park around noon, we immediately fell in love with the setting.

The stage overlooked the Ottawa River beneath the shade of mature weeping willow trees. It was a picture-perfect location for an afternoon concert.

We were treated to a wonderful audience throughout the afternoon as we presented our Birth of Rock 'n' Roll show. It was great seeing families, couples, and music lovers of all ages enjoying an afternoon of live music by the river.

A sincere thank you goes out to the Town of Arnprior, the Concerts in the Park organizers, and the parks staff for making the afternoon such a success.

We certainly hope we'll have the opportunity to return in 2027.

Looking Ahead

After a busy July, we're taking a couple of weeks to recharge, spend some well-earned time with our families, and head back to the woodshed.

One thing Bogdan mentioned after our last weekend of shows really stuck with me. He said we've been on a good run this year, and you can feel it every time we step on stage. Playing consistently has helped us gel as a band, sharpen our performances, and become more comfortable taking our Birth of Rock 'n' Roll show to new audiences. I couldn't agree more. Every show teaches us something, and every audience helps make us a better band.

With that momentum behind us, one of our biggest goals for the remainder of 2026 is continuing work on our original material. We've got several songs in development, and we're excited to keep building the next chapter of Cadillac Rumble.

August is shaping up to be another fun month with a great mix of festivals, community events, and live shows. We hope you'll come out and join us somewhere along the way.

We're also beginning to focus on filling out our fall schedule and look forward to announcing a few more dates in the coming weeks.

A Few Thank Yous

None of this happens without great people.

I'd like to personally thank Bogdan and David for their dedication, professionalism, and friendship. Night after night, show after show, they continue helping me deliver a live show that we're all incredibly proud of.

I'd also like to recognize Dylan Roberts for stepping in behind the drums during our Arnprior concert. Dylan did a fantastic job, and we're grateful to have him as part of the Cadillac Rumble family whenever David's schedule keeps him away.

I'd also like to thank our families. They support us every weekend by understanding the time we spend away from home, helping us chase our passion for live music, and always encouraging us to keep doing what we love. Their patience, love, and support make everything we do possible, and we couldn't do this without them.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has come out to a show, shared one of our posts, visited our website, or simply told a friend about Cadillac Rumble.

Every ticket purchased, every dance, every conversation after a show, and every recommendation helps us continue to grow. We never take that support for granted.

We're excited about what the rest of 2026 has in store, and we hope you'll join us somewhere along the road.

Until next time, keep rockin', keep rollin', and we'll see you somewhere down the road.
